Volunteer Leader & Professional Staff Relations
Ethics Resource Center (Arlington, VA): GrunewaldSolutions was hired to serve as the facilitator for ERC's strategic planning process at ERC's Board of Directors meeting, with the goal of setting out plans and priorities for the next three years and for adopting a series of goals for the Board to adopt moving forward in terms of their own engagement with the organization.
Food and Drug Law Institute (Washington, DC): Hired to assess the FDLI's committee structure, best use of staffing resources to maximize effectiveness of committees, and training of senior staff on effective staff-leadership interactions to promote partnership and shared vision for the committees.
Research!America (Alexandria, VA): Reinvigorated R!A's National Business Initiative, which pairs academia and businesses on the local and regional level to urge Congressional state delegations and Congress to increase federal funding for life sciences research, primarily as an engine to spur economic growth.
The David Project (Boston, MA): GrunewaldSolutions hired to advise the organization on strategic board growth, board development, and governance -- and also developed new Bylaws for the organization, as well as procedures for advisory groups.
National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (Washington, DC): Established interactive program between senior volunteer leaders and staff to foster partnership and meaningful working relationships; developed collaborative goal-setting process at annual leadership retreat; invigorated committee structure and leader-staff cooperation.
PANIM (Rockville, MD): As member of the Executive Committee, dealt with sensitive governance and staffing issues with retirement of founding director and eventual merger with BBYO.
Hillel (Washington, DC): Tasked with integrating Hillel's ambitious Five Year Strategic Plan into the day-to-day operations and programs of the institution. Worked closely with Hillel's most senior leaders in this process that included restructuring of departments; allocation of human and financial resources to advance the goals of the Strategic Plan; purposeful hiring of staff; and the coordination of communications.

Committee Mandates
Hands-on experience dealing with a wide array of organizational committees, developing mission statements for them, ensuring effective committee member and professional staff relations, and providing for meaningful contributions by volunteer leaders through work on committees.
